Internet & Mobile
Everything you need to know about the internet in Türkiye: eSIM, SIM card, Wi-Fi and roaming — explained simply so you stay connected on the Turkish Riviera.
Mobile Internet in Türkiye
Mobile internet is widely available across Türkiye and works reliably in all major holiday regions on the Turkish Riviera, including Antalya, Lara, Belek, Kemer, Side and Alanya.
The three main network providers Turkcell, Vodafone and Türk Telekom offer excellent 4G coverage in tourist areas, and 5G is being rolled out step by step in the larger cities.
Most hotels, cafés, restaurants and shopping centres offer free Wi-Fi for their guests. In many places you only need to ask the staff for the password.
For everyday use such as maps, messaging, social media and video calls, the internet in Türkiye is fast and reliable enough for a relaxed holiday.
eSIM, SIM Cards & Roaming
There are three main ways to stay connected during your holiday: an eSIM, a local SIM card or roaming with your home tariff. Each option has its own advantages depending on how long you stay and how much data you need.
| Option | Best for | Advantages | Points to consider |
|---|---|---|---|
| eSIM | Short trips, easy setup | Activated online in minutes, no shop visit needed | Only works on newer smartphones with eSIM support. Internet connection required for activation. |
| Local SIM card | Longer stays, high data use | Best local prices, large data packages | Registration with passport, activation in a shop |
| Roaming (home tariff) | Very short stays, occasional use | No new SIM needed, same phone number | Can be expensive outside the EU, check your tariff first |

Wi-Fi & Internet Access
Most hotels, restaurants, cafés and many beach bars offer free Wi-Fi for their guests. Connection speeds may vary depending on the location and time of day, but they are usually sufficient for messaging, social media and video calls.
For internet access while travelling, mobile data is often the fastest and most reliable option.
Useful Connectivity Tips
Before travelling, check the roaming conditions of your mobile provider. EU roaming rules do not apply in Türkiye.
If you use mobile data regularly during your holiday, an eSIM or a local SIM card is often the more affordable option.
Download offline maps in Google Maps or Apple Maps before travelling in case your connection is temporarily unavailable.
