Transport
Find the best ways to travel around the Turkish Riviera. Learn about airport transfers, taxis, rental cars and public transport.
Airport Transfers
Antalya Airport (AYT) is the main gateway to the Turkish Riviera. It has two international terminals and is well connected to all major holiday areas along the coast.
A private transfer is the easiest way to reach your hotel. Your driver waits at arrivals, helps with the luggage and takes you directly to your accommodation. There are no stops and no waiting for other guests.
Shared transfers are cheaper but often make several stops at different hotels. This can be a good choice for travellers with a flexible schedule and a light budget.
Most transfer providers include hotel pickup for the return journey. You wait at your hotel and are taken directly to the airport at a fixed time.
Booking your transfer in advance saves time on arrival. Prices are confirmed, the driver is ready and you avoid searching for a taxi after a long flight.
Taxi, Rental Cars & Public Transport
On the Turkish Riviera you have several ways to get around. The best option depends on your plans, your budget and how flexible you want to be.
Taxis are widely available and use a meter. Dolmuş are small shared minibuses that follow fixed routes and are very affordable. Public buses connect city centres and beaches. Rental cars give you full flexibility for day trips and remote areas.

Shared Transfer or Private Transfer?
Many visitors arrive on package holidays and already have a shared airport transfer included by their tour operator. This is a convenient option, but shared transfers often wait for other arriving passengers and usually stop at several hotels before reaching your destination.
A private transfer picks you up directly after your arrival and takes you straight to your hotel without additional stops. After a long flight or when travelling with children, many visitors prefer this faster and more comfortable option.
Shared Transfer
- Often included in package holidays
- Departure after other passengers arrive
- Several hotel stops
- Total travel time may be much longer
Private Transfer
- Direct airport pickup
- No waiting for other passengers
- No hotel stops
- Direct transfer to your hotel
- More comfortable and usually much faster
